The 607th birth anniversary celebrations of saint-lyricist Tallapaka Annamacharya will be held for three days at his birthplace Tallapaka in Rajampet mandal from May 5.
Stating this in a news conference at Tallapaka Dhyana Mandiram, Government Whip Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy and Rajampet RDO Prabhakar Pillai flagged off the TTD Prachara Ratham to propagate the event in the villages.
Accommodation and other arrangements would be made for the pilgrims taking part in the celebrations, they said. ‘Nadaswara Sammalenam’, ‘Saptagiri sankeerthana goshti ganam’ and ‘gramotsavam’ would be held from May 5 morning. Film music director Saluru Vasu Rao troupe would organise ‘Padutha Theeyaga’ programme and six children would render Annamacharya keerthanas on May 5 evening, they said. Kalaneerajanam programme would be rendered by K. Ramya and Soumya of Tiruchanur and A. Vijayalakshmi Sisters would recite songs on May 6. Kavi sammelanam would be held on Annamacharya Pada Sampada on the morning of May 7.
Music recital by S.V. Satyanarayana troupe of Anakapalli and Annamacharya keerthanas by film director and singer Vandemataram Srinivas and ‘Annamacharya Padyanatakam’ by Sri Padmasri Arts troupe that evening.
Free bus services
Spiritual and cultural programmes would be held at the 108-foot Annamcharya statue at Boyinapalle. TTD would operate free bus services from Rajampet for the benefit of pilgrims, they said.
