August 21, 2014 12:59 am | Updated 12:59 am IST - HYDERABAD:

In the budget proposals, the government promised to take steps to start “Anna canteens” to provide food at affordable prices for low income groups.

It was also decided to make Aadhar number compulsory in the implementation of all government schemes to ensure flow of benefits to the target groups and avoid leakages. The government will waive crop loans up to Rs. 1.5 lakh a family in spite of a huge burden on exchequer at a time of severe financial stress.
