Naidu rolls out red carpet to South Korean investors

The State government and Make in India Korea Center (MIC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up Korea Industrial Complex in the State.

As per the MoU, the Andhra Pradesh Centre will be established at Busan in South Korea.

The MIC will also conduct outreach programmes in Korea for the promotion of investment and business in AP.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu attended a business seminar on the second day of his visit at Busan on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Naidu said Andhra Pradesh was ahead of other States in creation of infrastructure. Also, an investor-friendly atmosphere prevails.

AP unveiled the best industrial policy and was offering best packages to the investors. Isuzu, Hero, Bharat Benz and Kia Motors were a few automobile giants that have footprints in AP.

“To know more about efficiency, you can talk to Kia Motors,” he said. One could call him or simply SMS him. “Come up with a project proposal and invest in our State,” he added.

Invite to Busan Mayor

At another meeting, Busan Mayor Suh Byungsoo said AP and Busan can establish sister state relationship.

“So far, we have been focusing on Japan, China and the US. We are now keen on establishing economic ties with other countries as well,” he said.

Mr. Naidu requested him to visit A.P. as State guest, as he is keen on working with Busan.

Busan Vice Mayor Kim Young Wan and the CM discussed the prospects of mutual cooperation between fisheries university of AP and Pukyoung national university of Korea.

Visits port

Mr. Naidu visited Busan new port, which can handle up to 13.2 million TEU shipping containers per year.

The CM and his team visited the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone (BJFEZ), Busan-Jinhae FEZ and Nok-san National Industrial Complex, and New Indian Cultural Centre – Make in India Centre, Busan.

Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Industries Minister Amarnath Reddy, Government Advisor (Communications) Parakala Prabhakar, CMO Principal Secretary G. Saiprasad, Industries Secretary Solmon Arokia Raj, AP EDB CEO Jasti Krishna Kishore, and APIIC MD Babu A were present.
