Andhra Pradesh HoDs to shift only after academic year

November 15, 2014 12:06 am | Updated 12:06 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The proposed shifting of offices of Head of Departments to Vijayawada may not happen till the end of academic year.

The committee on shifting of HoDs headed by IAS officer Sam Bob who had been interacting with various departments to determine their requirement for space and number of personnel to be moved to the capital reported that a majority of officers were in favour of relocation only at the end of the current academic year.

It was one of the issues that came up for discussion in the meeting convened by Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao with secretaries of departments here on Friday. The meeting discussed bifurcation-related issues and administrative matters, including Aadhaar seeding with welfare schemes of departments concerned.

On the distribution of State-level employees, the Andhra Pradesh government may suggest to the Kamalnathan Committee to call for options of employees in the departments which completed division of cadre strength and posts between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Instead of waiting to call for options till all the departments completed division of posts and cadre strength, the committee in the meantime could initiate the process with the departments that finished the task, sources said.

Crucial meet on Nov. 28

Meanwhile, Union Home Secretary called both the Chief Secretaries for a meeting on November 28 to sort out differences over sharing of Schedule IX and IX institutions and the request of the Andhra Pradesh government to enforce implementation of special powers of Governor.

It was suggested at the meeting that officials of both the States could make a joint representation to the banks to keep the current accounts of the Labour Welfare Board operational.
