On the eve of Diwali, Andhra Pradesh government today sanctioned several welfare measures for the police personnel, including free bi-annual medical check-up facility.
State Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, who had earlier announced the welfare measures on the Police Commemoration Day on October 21, today approved the same.
The Chief Minister sanctioned biennial health check-up facility at government cost for all officers and staff of police department, grant of one crore rupees by the State government to Police Welfare Fund every year, including arrears, and also sanctioned required funds for upgrading of Police Hospital at Amberpet here.
Mr. Reddy also gave his approval towards posting of a government doctor in all the District Police/City Commisionerate headquarters, police battalions and police training colleges hospitals in various districts, according to a official release from the CMO tonight.
