Andhra IAS officers condemn ‘threats’ by YSRCP MP

The Association also condemned the criminal assault by the MLAs of Delhi Assembly on the Chief Secretary of Delhi Government.

The Andhra Pradesh IAS Officers Association has taken strong exception to the threats allegedly held out by YSRCP MP, V. Vijay Sai Reddy against a senior IAS officer.

The Association said it strongly condemned the MP's action in naming and threatening vindictive action against Mr. Satish Chandra, Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister. A statement signed by the Association secretary, Shashi Bhushan Kumar, said , “Such threats of vindictive action against a civil servant is deplorable and the Association appeals to all political parties to desist from such irresponsible behaviour in demoralising civil service which is entrusted with accomplishment of challenging tasks”.

The Association said it placed on record Mr. Satish Chandra's selfless service to the cause of bifurcated State in building necessary environment to carry out administration from Amaravati.

Mr. Vijay Sai Reddy has charged the senior IAS officer and a senior IPS officer, A B. Venkateswara Rao with corruption and helping in crossing over of YSRCP MLAs to Telugu Desam and allegedly threatened that action would be taken against them when YSRCP comes to power.

The Association also condemned the criminal assault by the MLAs of Delhi Assembly on the Chief Secretary of Delhi Government on Tuesday night.

“The assault on Chief Secretary is not only a criminal act but also an attack on the independence an neutrality of the civil service. The fact that the incident tool place in the presence of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister makes it all the more reprehensible. This association affirms its total support to Delhi IAS Association in its struggle for equity and fair-play between permanent and political executive”, Mr, Kumar said in a separate statement. The Association demanded speedy legal action and immediate arrest of all the perpetrators, conspirators and supporters of this crime as well as trial by a fast court.
