Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu paid his last respects to the mortal remains of MLC Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu at the latter’s ancestral home at Venkatramapuram village of Ramachandrapuram mandal near Tirupati on Wednesday.
Accompanied by Ministers Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, K. Atchannaidu, and P. Narayana, and Chittoor MP N. Sivaprasad, the Chief Minister called on Mr. Muddukrishnama Naidu’s family members and shared their grief.
‘People’s leader’
Describing Mr. Muddukrishnama Naidu as “his close associate and good friend” ever since the formation of the TDP, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu termed his demise as an irreparable loss to Chittoor district in general and the party in particular.
He recalled the services rendered by Mr. Muddukrishnama Naidu to the district and hailed him as a “people's leader.”
Speaking to the media later, the Chief Minister expressed shock over the sudden demise of Mr. Muddukrishnama Naidu.
Mr. Muddukrishnama Naidu had complained of illness in two spells and underwent treatment for the same. His body was airlifted from Hyderabad and brought to the old airport in Renigunta.

Srinivasulu and B.N. Rajasimhulu, MLAs K. Narayanaswamy, T. Aditya, D.K. Satyaprabha, and M. Sugunamma, ZP chairperson G. Chandraprakash, Chittoor Mayor K. Anuradha, A.P. Women’s Commission chairperson N. Rajakumari, CPI secretary K. Narayana, and former Minister Galla Arunakumari paid tributes to the departed leader.
Former Assembly Speaker A. Eswara Reddi hailed him for his plain-speaking nature. Former MP Chinta Mohan termed Mr. Muddukrishnama Naidu’s demise as a great loss to the district. Rashtriya Seva Samithi general secretary G. Muniratnam recalled his services to the Rayalaseema region.
