YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday said all dues of the SHG groups until the time of the elections would be paid by the government in four instalments if the YSRCP comes to power.

Speaking at the ‘Mahila Sadassu’ held at the Hussainapuram village of the Banaganapalle Assembly constituency in the Kurnool district as part of the ‘Prajasankalpa Yatra’, Mr. Jagan accused the State government of cheating the women by not adequately implementing the promise of loan waiver.

“He [Mr. Naidu] said he needed to come to power if loan waiver for women SHGs was to be implemented. He said he would remove belt shops from Andhra Pradesh if he comes to power. What is happening today? He has cheated you,” said Mr. Jagan even as he went on to list the promises of the YSRCP.

“Send your children to schools and colleges. Two children will be given ₹15,000 per year for their education. The government is giving only ₹35,000 as fee reimbursement for engineering studies. Your [YSRCP] government will give as much as the fee is,” he said to the applause of the women crowd.

He also promised that his government would ensure that no family shall be homeless in the villages while issues pertaining to pensions, ration and fee reimbursement would be resolved within three days of petitioning through “village secretariats”.

On his way to the Gorlagutta village, he was met by student JAC fighting for SCS where they complained to him against the government arresting its activists demanding it after which he walked holding a placard demanding SCS.

Speaking later at the Gorlagutta village, he promised quarry workers that his government would solve all their problems such as lack of opportunities borne out of a sudden and unduly high increase in power charges from ₹3.70 to ₹8.70 and increasing costs making businesses unattractive.
