The district administration has made all arrangements for Ugadi celebrations to be held on Monday with active involvement of artists at Kasturba Kalakshetra here.
The celebrations will begin from 8 a.m. with several cultural programmes to be presented by artists, said Joint Collector G. Rekharani.
Distinguished personalities, who rendered outstanding contributions in the field of education and culture, will be honoured on the occasion. They include popular film music director Thaman, who belongs to Pottepalem near Nellore city and S.P. Balasubramanyam’s son Charan.
Simhapuri Welfare Association is organising ‘Mahadeva Yagnam’ in Town Hall. There will be ‘gopuja’ at 4 p.m. and ‘homagundam’ will be made from soil brought specially from Kasi.
Sainama Sankeertana MahayagnamUgadi and Sri Rama Navami utsavams will be held at Sai Darbar in Balajinagar from March 31 to April 9. They are organising ‘Sainama Sankeertana Mahayagnam’.
Sri Venkateswara Swamy kalyanam will be performed at Satya Sai Bhajana Mandir located at Rammurthynagar, said Seva Samithi convener Sudhakar Rao.
