Alipiri blast accused produced in court

The Tirupati police on Thursday produced two Maoists Krishna alias Damodaram and his spouse Bhavani alias Gita at Additional Magistrate court in Tirupati, in connection with the bomb blast at Alipiri in October 2003, in which incident the then Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was injured. The court ordered judicial remand for the couple till October 1. The couple, hailing from Gunipalle of Anantapur district, had been living in Bangalore since four years, and the police took them into custody at Bangalore.

Meanwhile, another Maoist Deepak alias Venkateswara Rao was arrested by the police in Kolkota a few days ago, and the police are expected to produce him too at Tirupati court soon.
