Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya on Wednesday skipped the meeting with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu over her rivalry with former AP State Rural Irrigation Corporation chairman A.V. Subba Reddy.
The Minister was learnt to have said that “there is no intimation from the party to her to meet the CM.”
The meeting was postponed to Thursday.
Mr. Naidu summoned Kurnool MLA S.V. Mohan Reddy, the maternal uncle of Ms. Akhila Priya, to also come to the meeting.
Meanwhile, Mr. Subba Reddy met the TDP leaders and discussed the developments in Kurnool.
Irksome situation
Mr. Subba Reddy and Ms. Akhila Priya are at loggerheads, putting the ruling party in an irksome situation in Nandyal Parliamentary constituency.
The Chief Minister’s efforts to persuade Ms. Akhila Priya and Mr. Subba Reddy, a close aide of her father Bhuma Nagi Reddy, to bury the hatchet yielded no result.
They had staged the ‘Dharma Porata Deeksha’ separately. Mr. Subba Reddy and a few of his followers sustained minor injuries when a group of persons pelted stones at them during a cycle rally on Sunday last.
