The State government has urged all the All-India Services officers to submit their preference for the successor State cadre to which they will like to be allotted.
In a clear indication that the IAS, IPS and IFS officers will be given option to choose either of the successor States of united Andhra Pradesh, the government issued a memo here on Friday.
It said that the AIS officers of Andhra Pradesh cadre should submit their preference and undertaking in a prescribed pro forma in a sealed cover duly super scribing their name and year of allotment before 5 p.m. on May 16.
The IAS officers should submit the sealed covers to the Secretary, GAD (Political) while the IPS officers should give them to the Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) V.S.K. Kaumudi. The IFS officers should submit their applications to the Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Admn) R.G. Kalaghatgi.
The pro forma has three provisions indicating first preference of AIS officers for the State of Andhra Pradesh, first preference for the State of Telangana and equal preference for both successor States.
It also sought the undertaking of the officers that showing their preference for allotment to either of the successor States would not confer any right in their favour for being allotted to that State.
The Central Advisory Committee directed the State Government to obtain the preference of the AIS officers. It may be mentioned here that the State Government, in a meeting with the Pratyush Sinha Committee, presented case of AIS officers seeking option to choose one of the successor States. The committee, which posted the draft guidelines on the website of Department of Personnel and Training for distribution of AIS officers, sought their feedback.
The final principles for distribution would be released after May 17, after the announcement of election results, sources said.
