Tourists are chilling out in the agency areas of the Visakhapatnam district because of a dip in temperatures in the past few days. Chintapalli recorded 11 degrees Celsius and Lammasingi (also known as Lambasingi) recorded 9 degree C on Wednesday. The temperatures recorded there were 13 degree C and 11 degree C respectively on Tuesday, according to sources at the Regional Agriculture Research Centre (RARC) at Chintapalli.

“The weather is very cool with the dense fog affecting visibility and affecting vehicular traffic till around 10 a.m. We are experiencing severe cold conditions though we live here. Though there are a good number of tourists, the actual rush would begin, when places like Lammasingi drop to 1 degree or 2 degree C during the end of November or in early December,” said a resident of Chintapalli.

The tourist season at Araku, Lammasingi, Paderu and Chintapalli normally begins around Dasasra. Tourists arrive from West Bengal, Odisha and other States during the Dasara holidays after which there would be a drop.
