An advocate was hacked to death in broad daylight in Eluru on Monday. According to Superintendent of Police Bhaskar Bhushan, the victim Palivela Dattatreay Ramananda Rayalu (45) was sitting in one of his friend’s shop in one-town police station area, when four unidentified persons entered the shop and started having an interaction with the shopkeeper.
During that time, one of them pulled a weapon from a bag and hacked the advocate. The other two joined him and stabbed him in the back, after which they escaped. While escaping, one of the miscreants closed the shutters of the shop and locked it from outside, not realising that one of his accomplices was inside.
Immediately, there was a commotion in that area and people who gathered there informed the police. When the police opened the shutters, Rayalu was lying in a pool of blood, and one of the accused, identified as Ratla Prabhu, was caught by the police. The police immediately rushed the body to government hospital. Based on the information provided by Prabhu, the police nabbed another accused Pradeep. Two other miscreants are at large. It is suspected that the advocate was involved in some civil dispute.
