The police will undertake video surveillance of the Ganesh shobha yatra on the route of the Ganesh nimajjanam procession as part of the measures to maintain peace on September 3.
About 30 videographers will be deployed to cover the procession and 15-foot-high curtains will be put up in front of four mosques on the route.
Adilabad DSP A.R. Damodhar told The Hindu that 10 videographers were already on duty.
The police have categorised certain places as hyper-sensitive and sensitive. Pickets have been posted at these places. On the nimajjanam day, additional forces, garnered from other towns in the district where the festivities will have ended, will be deployed to monitor the procession that is likely to feature over 100 idols.
The DSP said preventive arrests would be made if need be. He urged people not to believe rumours and inform the police about any suspicious activity.
