May 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - TIRUPATI:

Union Minister for Civil Aviation P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju announced that the developmental programmes initiated by the Union government would bring ‘acche din’ (good days) to Andhra Pradesh in the coming days.

Participating as a special guest at a function named ‘Vijayotsava Sambaralu’ to mark the completion of the NDA government’s one year in office at the Centre,

Mr. Raju said the NDA’s rule has been marked by an absence of corruption in sharp contrast to the previous UPA regime which was marred by scams.

Dismissing the personal criticism heaped upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Congress leaders led by Rahul Gandhi, the Minister said, “We have heard of the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru sending his suits to France for laundering but his great-grandson criticises the ‘suit and boot’ culture of the present Prime Minister,” he remarked.

Minister for Environment and Forest Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy lauded Mr. Modi for following in the footsteps of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who was an “icon of people-centric governance.” He said the past 365 days have been a “wonderful’ experience,” with the BJP and TDP effectively playing the roles of a major and minor partner at the Centre and vice-versa in the State.
