ACB seizes gold, silver from ADE’s bank lockers

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths opened the bank lockers of Transco Assistant Divisional Engineer M. Nagaraju and his family members and detected nearly 1,052 gm of gold ornaments and 1,714 grams of silver articles in the lockers in Kurnool and Allagadda on Tuesday.

Five teams of ACB officials seized 116 grams of gold ornaments from the ADE’s bank locker and 24.6 grams of gold and 1.280 kg of silver from his second wife Narayanamma’s locker in Andhra Bank branch in Allagadda, according to Kurnool ACB DSP Jayarama Raju. The officials also detected 220 grams of gold jewels from Mr. Nagaraju’s first wife Lakshmi Devi’s bank locker in State Bank of India branch in Kurnool, he added.

The ACB official said 353 grams of gold jewels were detected in his mother-in-law Subbaratnamma’s bank locker and 317 grams of gold and 434 grams of silver from his brother-in-law Subramanya Prasad’s locker in Andhra Bank branch in Kurnool. The gold and silver ornaments and articles were seized. Mr. Jayarama Raju said the ADE was arrested and would be produced in court on Wednesday.
