Anti-Corruption Bureau officials conducted simultaneous searches on the offices and houses of three senior officials of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) and detected assets which were disproportionate to their income sources, a bureau press release said on Wednesday.
The officials whose houses were searched and arrested were: C.V. Rambaba, Director, P. Manohar Babu, Director and G. Surya Rao, Chief General Manager.
The press release said the immovable assets of C.V. Rambaba included a three storied house at Aurora colony in Banjara Hills, two plots in Ranga Reddy district, a residential flat at Pavani Prestige apartments in Nellore, ten acres of agricultural land at Nellore all worth Rs 60 lakh. Officials also found Rs 90000 in cash, 400 grams of gold, Rs 17 lakh bank balances, Rs 4.30 lakh in investments in LIC, two cars. The total assets owned by him were to the tune of Rs 1 crore and the market value could be around Rs 2.5 crore.
The assets of Manohar Babu included a three-storied house in Aurora colony, a four-storied building in a plot of 1000 square yards in Madapur worth ARs 1.70 crore, and other movable assets worth Rs 19.50 lakh. The market value of his assets could be around Rs 5 crore, the press release said.
In case of G. Surya Rao, the assets included a two-storied house at Padmasai colony in East Maredpally, 17 house plots around Hyderabad, 20 acres of agricultural land in Keesara mandal all worth Rs 1.89 crore. The market value could be around Rs 5 crore.
The press release added that the searches were continuing and the bank lockers were not yet opened. The arrested officers were being produced before the court.
