Absconding undertrial prisoner caught

Krishna police produced 24-year-old M.V. Sunil Kumar, an undertrial prisoner at Kadapa Central Jail who absconded from an escort vehicle in Anantapur district on December 11, before the local court here on Tuesday.

According to Krishna District Superintendent of Police G. Vijaya Kumar, Mr. Sunil Kumar had absconded from an escort vehicle on the night of December 11 before the arrival of the central jail. A team of Krishna district police caught him in Machilipatnam on Monday evening. The under trial prisoner in a kidnap-turned-murder case was earlier accused in 14 cases including in ten kidnaps, two murder.

He was also involved in red sanders smuggling case. “Mr. Sunil Kumar has plotted for some offences in Machilipatnam. Local medical transcriptionist Mr. Rajesh helped him to stay here for the past few days,” SP Mr. Vijaya Kumar told the media. Mr. Sunil Kumar was provided necessary support through Mr. Rajesh in Machilipatnam by his inmate at the central jail Mr. Veeraswami, who hails from Machilipatnam. In July 2014, Mr. Sunil Kumar was arrested by Anantapur police in a kidnap-turned- murder case along with his four friends.

He hails from Kottapeta village in Kadapa district and working as an autorickshaw driver in Anantapur district. Krishna District Superintendent of Police G. Vijaya Kumar had led the search operation along with DSP M.V. Srinivasa Rao and Circle Inspector Mr. Murthy.
