AAP no alternative for left, says Brinda Karat

February 11, 2015 03:07 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 11:04 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

The Aam Admi Party (AAP) cannot be an alternative to the Left politics, CPI (M) politbureau member Brinda Karat said here on Wednesday, when sought a reaction on the Delhi Assembly election results.

"AAP has given many important assurances to the people. Let's wait and hope that it implements its policies and assurances", Ms. Brinda Karat told reporters before participating in a seminar on reservations in private sector organised by CPI(M) as part of preparations for its 21st party congress to be held here from April 14 to 19.

The Delhi voters gave a befitting reply to the BJP, its leaders and particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi who used the elections as a platform to promote his policies. But people reminded him that unity of the country and protecting people in a country like India was important, she added.
