A ‘Yatra’ to highlight Yoga, its benefits

With a view to creating awareness about health among rural people, RSR Foundation will hold Patanjali Yoga Vignana Yatra from February 8.

Rankireddy Subba Raju and R. Gopalakrishna, chairman and executive director of RSR Foundation, respectively, said most people considered Yoga as a cure to obesity, diabetes, cardiac problems and other illnesses.

They added that even foreigners had taken to Yoga owing to its benefits. Mr. Srinivas said the Yatra would begin from Vemagiri and cover the tribal agency areas of Addateegala, Maredumilli and Rampachodavaram and Anaparti and Kadiyam till February 22. He added that Yoga sessions would be conducted daily from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. in villages. The Yatra Ratham will reach Rajahmundry in the first week of March, and Yoga sessions will be held at the Government Girls’ High School and the SKVT Degree College during summer. Along with Yoga classes, personality development trainer Nagi Reddy will hold sessions for youth.
