Heralding the New Year is always fun for many, while it is frowned upon as ‘aping western culture’ by some. Here’s a novel attempt to give a ‘classical touch’ in extending a ceremonial reception to the year 2015.

Classical musical instruments have become part of the bouquets and floral arrangements being made for the New Year’s Eve. Blue Petals, a leading florist in the city, found a novel way to grab eyeballs and at the same time give a traditional touch to the bouquets. Bouquets are made of musical instruments such as Veena, Violin, Guitar and Dolu (native percussion) to add a traditional touch to the bouquets. “Not only display value, the bouquets are also getting good response”, says its proprietor and chief designer C.B.V. Saikumar.
