ONGOLE: Zilla Parishad Chairman Edara Haribabu joined the ZPTC members in staging a sit-in in front of the podium against what they called ‘disrespect’ from officials here on Friday.

At the fag end of the session, the ZPTC members trooped into the well of the House and complained that they were being insulted by the Mandal Development Officers and other officials at the grassroots level. Squatting in front of the podium, they demanded justice for them. Expressing solidarity with them, Mr. Haribabu, who was conducting the proceedings, took them by surprise by joining them in the protest.

''I am also a victim of officials and local MLA ( D. Janardhan Rao) who violated the protocol on many occasions and slighted me too,” he said.
