Differences in the Hindupur unit of the Telugu Desam Party represented by cine hero Nandamuri Balakrishna in the Assembly, became public with the resignation of two of its leaders.

Balayya PA blamed

Two ZPTC members of the TDP from Lepakshi and Chilamathur resigned on Saturday from the Zilla Parishad by sending their resignation letters to the ZP chairman.

They said at a press meet on Saturday that the reason behind their resignation was the high-handed and dictatorial manner of Sekhar, personal assistant to Mr. Balakrishna.

“Mr. Sekhar doesn’t even show the minimum courtesy and respect to anybody from the party, wrongly using the name of Mr. Balakrishna.

“This can’t be allowed if the party is to serve the people and reassert its position in the next elections,” said ZPTC member Adinarayana Reddy.

The resignations are being seen as a culmination of a series of secret meetings of several TDP leaders from the Hindupur constituency over the past week to discuss the behaviour of Mr. Sekhar.

On Friday, an audio surfaced on the social media, purportedly of Mr. Sekhar shouting at an unidentified contractor from Anantapur over bidding for contracts in the Hindupur municipality without his blessings.
