The Andhra Pradesh government received three gold awards at the 20th National Conference on E-Governance that concluded here on Tuesday.
The first award was for excellence in government process re-engineering in loan charge creation model, the second was for outstanding creation of Aadhaar-linked public distribution system and the third was for Aadhaar-linked cashless payments.
A total of 261 entries had come from almost all the States, NGOs, federation and cooperative societies for the 12 identified themes and the awards were given to 20 selected teams, said Information Technology Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy.
At the valedictory of the conference, Mr. Raghunatha Reddy said that the State was aiming to become the knowledge hub and the government had initiated a number of policies such as IT policy, start-up policy and innovations policy to help IT entrepreneurs.

“The Chief Minister’s vision is to have at least one e-literate in every household and one e-entrepreneur in every family,” said the Minister.
He also added that the E-Pragati project that brings all the departments under e-governance will be completed by 2017-end.
Earlier, IT Secretary K. Vijayanand said that the State government was leveraging technology to make governance and life of people easier.
Giving a presentation on core CM Dashboard, the IT Secretary said that it was created to give the Chief Minister 24/7 real-time governance opportunity.
Almost every aspect or happenings in each of the department is uploaded into the portal and it can be viewed even by people, said Mr. Vijayanand.
The IT secretary also pointed out that the government was investing money and human resources in big data analytics and IoT (Internet of Things).
Suresh Chandra, Secretary, Ministry of Law, said that the IT world was dynamic and fast changing. We need to update changes in laws and that would make the Law Department also dynamic.
Chairman UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) J. Satyanarayana said that about Rs.7,000 crore had been spent on this project. “We have the largest biometric database in the world and now it needs to be utilised properly. This will serve as the main tool to pass on benefits to the beneficiaries in the rural sector and the chances of fraud is minimal,” he said. Secretary Public Grievances C.
