Revenue Dept. goes solar in Vizianagaram

VIZIANAGARAM: Collector Vivek Yadav inaugurated the solar energy panels with a capacity to generate 30 kilowatts of power per month at his office here on Monday.

Set up at a cost of Rs. 22 lakh, the panels will help cut power bills up to Rs. 27,000 per month. The power generated from these 125 solar panels was adequate to meet the demand of the Revenue Department, he said and added that another unit would be set up on top of the conference hall shortly to meet the demand of the other departments.

He called upon the people of the district to instal solar energy panels on all public and private complexes, shopping malls and other establishments and save energy.

APEPDCL Superintending Engineer Chiranjeevi Rao, Additional Joint Collector Nageswara Rao and others were present.
