January 23, 2015 03:09 pm | Updated October 18, 2016 12:57 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The Saidabad police altered the section of law in the suspicious death of 11-year-old Asif to murder on Friday. It may be recalled that the boy, inmate of Government Juvenile Home in Saidabad, was found dead two-days ago.

Investigation indicated that a minor of the same home allegedly murdered the boy. The minor is in the custody of the Home authorities.

“We suspect that the boy was sodomised. Swabs have been collected and being sent to forensic science laboratory to confirm this,” the Saidabad Inspector Srinivas told The Hindu.

Forensic doctors, who performed the autopsy, are understood to have told the investigators that the boy was strangulated to death.
