VIJAYAWADA: Hindupur MLA and TDP founder president N. T. Rama Rao’s son Balakrishna on Tuesday asserted that he was not aspiring for any berth in the Cabinet.

Mr. Balakrishna called a meeting to review developmental works in his constituency at the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) here.

Later speaking to reporters, Mr. Balakrishna said he would focus on the development of his constituency, which was once represented by his father. TDP president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would take a decision on induction of Nara Lokesh into the Cabinet. The party would decide the political future of Mr. Lokesh, he said, adding, “I will support the decision of the CM in this regard.”

The MLA said that he would try to solve the problems, if any, in his constituency. Apart from State politics, many issues came up for discussion at a breakfast meeting with the Chief Minister. The CM suggested working with coordination in the constituency, he said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Balakrishna’s personal assistant Sekhar has been taken off duties and directed to leave Hindupur immediately. The MLA , it is learnt, took the action following a suggestion from the Chief Minister.

In a related development, the leaders demanding the removal of Mr. Sekhar, including the two ZPTC members who had tendered their resignations, are learnt to have been asked to toe party line by TDP Chief Whip K. Srinivasulu. On films, the actor-turned-politician said he would play the role of NTR in the biopic. A team of people, who were close to NTR, was constituted. The team would give inputs on NTR. The idea was to bring out the unknown facts about NTR in politics, film industry and his life in his native village. The script was being prepared, he said, adding, “I know where to start and where to end the film.”

Row over biopic

The proposed movie has run into rough weather with NTR’s second wife Lakshmi Parvathi threatening to move court if Mr. Naidu was portrayed as hero in the film. She said that she would not keep quiet if historical facts were twisted in the biopic. “If injustice is meted out to the TDP founder, I will wage a legal battle,” she said.
