VIJAYAWADA: A smartphone application ‘Aqua App’ developed by aqua farmers Ramachandra Raju and Venu Dantuluri has been launched.

The free application, now available for android and iOS platforms, is designed to help over 75,000 farmers engaged in aquaculture in Andhra Pradesh and other States with features such as weather reports, market conditions, price alerts aqua feed and locations of markets

Founder Venu Dantuluri, along with seed investor Prakash, has invested $100,000 in developing the application.

"With the help of the app, farmers can employ many measures to make gains, including improvement in standards of feed efficiency, gain direct access to top quality manufacturers and others,” Ramachandra Raju, Delta Fish Farmers Welfare Association president, said on Thursday in a release.

“It will provide market information to the farmer where they can find the most profitable partners to enhance their yield,” Mr. Venu said.

“Our goal is to tap the 75,000-strong aqua farmers network in AP and let them experience the benefit of this app,” Mr. Venu added.
