ONGOLE: A 4-year-old boy died of high fever in Kumarole village of Prakasam district late on Saturday.

Though the boy tested negative for swine flu, he succumbed to suspected encephalitis, District Medical and Health Officer J. Yasin said.

Taking a serious note of the incident, Transport Minister Sidda Raghava Rao reviewed the situation with health officials on Sunday.

The officials informed the Minister that 32-year-old Sk. Mastan Vali from Podili died of swine flu last month.

Another person from Lingasamdram was being treated in Tirupati. His condition was said to be stable.

The Minister asked the officials to make available enough medicines in all public health centres.

A surveillance team was sent to Bodlagudur village, near Pamur, after a 30-year-old man and his six-year-old son were admitted to a hospital in Chennai with suspected swine flu symptoms, she said.

All service providers were being provided vaccine for swine flu, she added.
