As many as 77.42 per cent students from the engineering stream and 89.89 per cent students in agriculture and medical stream cleared the APEAMCET-2015. In the results announced on Thursday, girls outnumbered the boys with regard to pass percentage in both the streams and the list of top 10 rankers from both the streams was also released.

Kondapalli Anirudh Reddy and Kada Sri Vidhul secured the first ranks in the engineering and the agriculture and medical streams respectively.

The counselling for Engineering will commence on June 12 and the date for agriculture and medical counselling will be announced very soon. Minister for Human Resources Development Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Medical and Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas released the engineering and the agriculture and medical results of the APEAMCET-2015.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that though it was initially decided to release the results on May 26, the announcement was advanced only to pave way for the commencement of admissions.

“Our students should not go to the Universities in neighbouring States due to the delay here. The rank cards will be disbursed from May 24 and the ranks of the CBSE students appearing for the APEAMCET will be released only after the announcement of the intermediate results,” he said. The Minister further said that following reports from the experts committee, three questions were deleted from the APEAMCET question paper and the valuation was done for only 157 questions.

“Of the 1.41 lakh students who appeared for the test, 1.29 lakh secured the eligibility to get admission into engineering colleges. The results of the 9,433 students from the CBSE will be announced later,” he said.

Mr. Kamineni Srinivas said that of the 81,010 students, who appeared for the EAMCET in agriculture and medical stream, 79,398 students got the eligibility to join the courses concerned. “It is unfortunate that seven questions were invalid in the agriculture and medical stream. Valuation was done for only 153 marks, after removing the seven questions,” he said.

Member of Parliament Tota Narasimham, Vice-Chancellor of JNTUK V.S.S. Kumar, EAMCET convener Ch. Saibabu, MLAs and officials were present.
