Five persons have been arrested in connection with an alleged paper leak of the ongoing intermediate supplementary examinations in the Papanaidupeta area of Yerpedu mandal, here on Thursday.

According to the Gajulamandyam police, the accused were identified as Amarnath Reddy, Siva Kumar, Jayaram, Ashok and Sadasivaiah, who reportedly took pictures of the first year civics question paper though a mobile phone and attempted to leak the paper before the beginning of the examination.

The police, acting on a tip-off, conducted special checks in the examination centres of the area and nabbed the accused distributing answer bits to the students. Police have registered a case and investigation is on.
