Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said the government has sanctioned ₹5 crore for undertaking repairs to mosques, and instructed the officials of the Department of Minorities Welfare to take steps for delivering ‘Ramzan Tohfa’ to all the 12 lakh families.

In a review meeting on minorities welfare, Mr. Naidu said computer training centres should be set up in large madrasas to make the children computer-literate and offer other skill development programmes to them.

The government has earmarked ₹1,100 crore for welfare of the minorities in the current year’s budget and it would fulfil any promises that might be left over, before the year-end, Mr. Naidu added. Several officials were present.

Secretary to CM M. Girija Sankar, Secretary (Minorities Welfare) K. Ramgopal, Minorities Finance Corporation MD Usha Kumari, MLC T.D. Janardhan and others were present.
