Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to attend the grand finale of The Hindu’s ‘Our State Our Taste’ cookery contest to be held in Vijayawada on March 28.
After a series of district-level cookery contests across the State, The Hindu, in association with AP Tourism, has picked best cooks, mostly homemakers, who came up with delicious traditional food of Andhra Pradesh.
About 44 participants, including three each from every district, will compete for the ‘Master Chef of Andhra Pradesh’ title on Wednesday at ‘A Convention Centre’, which hosts the grand finale in the city.
The Chief Minister will attend the closing ceremony in the evening and announce the title winner as well as give away prizes to the top three winners.
Coffee table book
Later, he would deliver his message and also release the Coffee table book on the delicacies and recipes of Andhra Pradesh titled ‘Authentic Dishes of Andhra Pradesh’ certified by the National Institution of Nutrition (NIN).
In the first phase of the contest, the organisers listed 50 traditional dishes of Andhra Pradesh after gathering opinion and feedback of 1.4 lakh people through social media platforms, SMS and others.
In the second phase, cooking enthusiasts have participated in the cookery contest making one of the 50 dishes in districts from January 21 to March 4.
In the third phase, the participants will cook live at the venue starting at 9 a.m.
Musical programme
The closing ceremony would also feature a special musical programme by renowned and young playback singers Sri Krishna and Mohana.
The event is powered by Premier Cookware and Appliances in association with Gopuram Food Products while TV5 is the TV partner, Red FM is radio partner, HDFC is official banking partner and White Thoughts & branding is the creative and digital partner. The rules and regulations for the contest will be revealed once they report to the organisers at the venue.
