March 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 07:44 am IST - RAJAHMUNDRY:

A two-year-old boy died after having mid-day meals at an Anganwadi at G. Dontamuru of Rangampeta mandal in East Godavari district on Friday. His brother, who shared the meal, was admitted to the Kakinada Government Hospital where his condition was said to be critical.

Anganwadi workers served food to four-year-old Ajay in the afternoon. He took the food home, and his mother gave a portion of it to her younger son Bhargava Kalyan. After Ajay and Bhargav started vomiting, they were rushed to the Rajahmundry Government Hospital, where doctors suggested that they be shifted to the Kakinada Government Hospital. While Bhargav died en-route, Ajay was admitted to the ICU.
