A postgraduate, who had returned from Norway, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Veldurthy mandal in Macherla.
Dirsinala Saida Reddy, 25, who studied MS in Norway, had recently come to his native village.
Family members said Saida Reddy was found to be in a depressed state for some time and on Saturday evening, he allegedly ended his life by consuming poison at his home.
Sources in the family said Saida Reddy had given his credit cards to his friend Venkatrami Reddy and asked him to send money.
But his friend has been allegedly dodging ever since on one pretext or the other. Vexed by his friend’s behaviour, Saida Reddy decided to end his life, his family members alleged.
Though his family members rushed him to a private hospital, Saida Reddy died on the way. Macherla police registered a case based on a complaint filed by his father, Koti Reddy.
