The State government will waive loans of about 20 per cent of farmers by depositing Rs. 10,000 crore in banks within a fortnight and would waive the remaining loans by way of bonds, Deputy Chairman of A.P. Legislative Council S.V. Satish Kumar Reddy said on Saturday.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was committed to fulfil all the pre-election promises, despite the financial crunch, he said during the ‘Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru’ programme held at Chagaleru in Pulivendula mandal. The government would waive the remaining loans by the way of bonds, as it required Rs. 40,000 crore, he added.

The old age monthly pension had been enhanced from Rs. 200 to Rs. 1,000 and that for physically challanged from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,500, Mr. Satish Kumar Reddy said.
