February 13, 2015 03:21 pm | Updated 03:22 pm IST - ADILABAD:

Two eight-year-old children got accidentally drowned in an open well in Dharmaraopet in Kasipet mandal of Adilabad District on Thursday evening. The discovery of their bodies in the well early on Friday spread a pall of gloom on the village where the two were attending a wedding.

According to police, the ill-fated boys, Sangepu Santosh of Dharmaraopet and Aney Ajay of Rapelli in Mancherial were playing outside the house where the wedding was being solemnised. They apparently wandered towards the open well located about 15 ft away from the house which does not have a retaining wall and fell into it.

Their disappearance was noticed only late in the night as the parents and relatives were busy with the ceremonies. The bodies however, were fished out in the morning and sent for post mortem by Devapur police.
