A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by two persons on Monday at about 4 p.m. in Chigurukota village in Mudinepalli mandal, under Gudivada (rural) police station limits of Krishna district.
According to Gudivada Rural Police Station SHO Janardhana Rao, an autorickshaw driver Venkateswara Rao (21) and his friend picked up the girl from a grocery store under the pretext of dropping her home. They then took her to an isolated spot and allegedly raped her.
According to the SHO, the autorickshaw driver was known to the girl and that was the reason why she boarded the vehicle. As per the preliminary investigations, it is learnt that the police have identified Venkateswara Rao to have committed the crime, but the other person who is yet to be traced kept a vigil while she was being raped by the auto driver.
The girl was later dropped back home by the duo. Seeing the girl in a bad shape and crying, her parents inquired and when she narrated what happened, they lodged a complaint with the police.
