Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is according priority to develop the Nandyal constituency by sanctioning ₹1,200 crore for developmental works, Industries Minister Amarnath Reddy and Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya said on Thursday.
The developmental works would be completed in the next two to three months, Mr. Reddy said at a meeting at the Suraj Grand hotel function hall in Nandyal. He said 3,000 new pensions were sanctioned in Nandyal constituency, he added.
Ms. Akhila Priya said developmental works were taken up in Nandyal town and Gospadu mandal. A sum of ₹34 crore was sanctioned for augmenting drinking water supply in the constituency, besides sanctioning 2,000 houses in rural areas and 10,000 ration cards and pensions.
Akhila Priya’s call
Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh would visit Nandyal shortly and inaugurate cement concrete and BT roads, she said. The Bhuma family would be indebted to the people of the Nandyal and Allagadda constituencies, Ms. Akhila Priya said, and urged them to draw her attention to their problems. The Ministers disbursed 376 pensions in Nandyal municipality, 163 of Nandyal mandal and 66 of Gospadu mandal and hosted lunch for them.
Former Minister N. Md. Farooq, TDP district president Somisetty Venkateswarlu, Nandi Pipes MD Sridhar Reddy, Nandyal Municipal Commissioner Satyanarayana Rao and MPDOs of Nandyal and Gospadu mandals were present.
Earlier, A.P. State Irrigation Development Corporation chairman and Nandyal constituency in charge, K.E. Prabhakar, addressed a meeting of party functionaries in Nandyal.
TDP Observer for Nandyal constituency S. Goverdhan Reddy, Mr. Farooq, Mr. Venkateswarlu, Mr. Sridhar Reddy, and district general secretary Y. Nageswara Rao Yadav called upon the party cadre to strive for TDP nominee Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy’s victory in the ensuing byelection.
