The staff members of ‘108’ ambulance service here got their heads tonsured on Friday as their indefinite strike evoked lukewarm response from the State government and the GVK-EMRI management.

The ambulance staff, whose strike entered the eighth day on Friday, raised slogans demanding pay hike, job security and an end to harassment by the management of the ambulance service.

The agitators, led by CITU-led 108 Services Contract Employees’ Union president Sk. Mastan and secretary T. Satish vowed to intensify their agitation.
