NELLORE: A workshop on ‘mediation’ was held at the Umesh Chandra Conference Hall in the Police Parade Grounds here on Saturday under the joint auspices of the International Centre for Alternative Disputes Resolution (ICADR), the Andhra Pradesh Legal Services Authority (APLSA) and the Nellore District Legal Services Authority (NDLSA).

In his inaugural speech, ICADR Hyderabad regional centre incharge and secretary J.L.N. Murthy underlined the significance of mediation, consultation and arbitration in the process of resolving disputes to the satisfaction of the parties concerned.

Mr. Murthy said that the government and the judicial system have been placing a lot of focus on the ADR processes. Awareness was being created among the judicial officers, advocates, social activists and others to help pass on the benefits to people.

District and Sessions Judge Moulana Junaid Ahmed, senior civil judge C. Satyavani, SP Vishal Gunni and others were present on the occasion.
