‘Boost to manufacturing sector’

February 02, 2017 12:42 am | Updated 12:42 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Thrust on rural economy, infra status to affordable housing, and focus on poverty alleviation will boost the manufacturing sector, says Sarda Metals & Alloys Ltd president Rajendra Vohra.

He said that the manufacturing sector, which is now severely affected due to economy slump, would bounce back, providing a lot of business to steel, cement, construction, and Ferralloys industries.

Mr. Vohra said the demand for steel and cement would go up once the realty sector was revived.

On the whole, the budget would augur well for the manufacturing sector, Mr. Vohra said.

Welcoming cut in tax to the MSMEs, he said the small and medium units, which employed the largest workforce in the country, would contribute more for the nation’s economy.
