Ancia Neascu’s bail plea rejected

A court here on Monday rejected the bail application moved by controversial businessman Abhishek Verma’s wife, Ancia Neascu.

The couple were arrested on June 8 for allegedly receiving money from an arms firm to prevent the Indian government from initiating proceedings to blacklist it.

Special CBI Judge Sanjeev Jain said: “After hearing arguments from the CBI and counsel for the accused, the bail application is dismissed. The bail order is being passed without being influenced by any document.”

Custody till July 18

The couple will remain in judicial custody in the Tihar Central Jail till July 18.
