With the Union Cabinet reshuffle scheduled for Sunday, sources in the Congress say four or five Ministers will move to the party organisation to strengthen it in the run-up to the 2014 general election.

Two of the names being mentioned are Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni and Social Justice Minister Mukul Wasnik, who is also holding a party post, that of general secretary.

Ministers who may be dropped from the Cabinet include Subodh Kant Sahay and Beni Prasad Verma, while Environment Minister Jayanthi Natarajan is likely to move to a new job in the government, the sources said.

S. Jagathrakshakan, now Minister of State in the Information Ministry, may hold the same rank in the Railway Ministry. Two names from Maharashtra being mentioned are those of Vilas Muttemwar, now party general secretary, and Gurudas Kamath.

From Andhra Pradesh, two new names are in circulation — Suryaparakash Reddy from Rayalseema and Balram Naik from Telangana.
