Defence Minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday admitted that the > al-Qaeda’s Kashmir-related video was a threat to Indian security, but asserted that it would not cow down the people or security forces of the country.

Winding up his two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Jaitley said forces inimical to India and its economy would continue to try to disrupt peace in Kashmir. However, neither the people nor the security forces would be cowed down by any threat. “We have to watch the situation how it develops. With our level of preparedness, I am confident — with an element of caution — that our security forces will be in a position to repulse any such attempt [of infiltration and disruption],” Mr. Jaitley said. The al-Qaeda’s Afghanistan unit has purportedly released a video on social media calling for full-fledged Jihad against India and asking the Kashmiris to prepare for a major combat offensive.
