An alert has been sounded in Uttar Pradesh following the escape of three Pakistani terrorists from police custody in Delhi, a top officer said on Monday.

“Anti Terror Squad, Special Task Force and district units especially those sharing their boundaries with Delhi have been put on alert after the incident,” Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Brij Lal told reporters here.

Abdul Razzak, Mohammed Sadiq and Rafaqat Ali escaped while being escorted to a hospital for treatment on January one. The trio was arrested in connection with blasts near the Red Fort in Delhi nine years ago and due to be deported to their country on completion of their jail term.

“We have circulated pictures of all the three terrorists among all units and they have been asked to track the movement of the terrorists in UP on getting some leads,” he said.

Delhi police has already announced a reward for anyone providing information about them.
