A.K. Singh to head Southern Command

Lt. Gen. A.K. Singh, General Officer Commanding of the prestigious Strike Corps on the Western Front has been promoted as the Army Commander and redesignated as General Officer Commanding-in-Chief.

Lt. Gen. Singh, is scheduled to take over as the Chief of the Southern Command.

He has commanded 7th Light Cavalry, the White Tiger division and now a Strike Corps. A graduate from Staff College, Camberley, U.K., Higher Command Course at the Army War College and the prestigious National Defence College in Delhi, Lt. Gen. Singh has also attended prestigious courses in Russia and Sweden, a Defence Ministry release said.
