Ajit Singh likely to get Civil Aviation

December 17, 2011 12:57 am | Updated 12:57 am IST - New Delhi:

The Union Cabinet would be expanded on Sunday, when Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Ajit Singh, who joined the United Progressive Alliance recently, would be sworn in at 11.30 a.m. at the Ashoka Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan, officials said.

He is likely to be allotted the civil aviation portfolio.

The RLD's five MPs include Mr. Singh and his son Jayant Chaudhary. The Congress admitted the RLD into the ruling alliance as it felt it would improve its prospects in the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
