Operations of AIR and Doordarshan returned to almost normal on Wednesday with both the public sector broadcasters making special arrangements as the strike called by their technical staff entered the second day today.
The technicians of AIR and DD had gone on a 48-hour strike on Tuesday demanding repeal of the Prasar Bharti Act.
Operations of AIR which were “badly affected” yesterday almost returned to normal today with arrangements being made to run the programmes on time since last night, a senior AIR official said.
In the case of Doordarshan, except some regional centres like Kolkata and Chennai, most of the stations had resumed normal transmission, officials said.
Updating, however, still remained a problem due to some technical glitches, they said.
